The device, which sets the trajectory for the laser beam by two moving mirrors, affects the speed and accuracy of additive equipment. It is an integral part of 3D printers designed for the production of three-dimensional products from powders by selective laser sintering (SLS), used for precise positioning and focusing of the laser beam in the form of a line, point, contour, drawing, text.
Metal powders
01
A pilot machine has been created in Novouralsk for the production of metal powders from stainless steel by gas atomization of alloys.

The target fraction of the obtained powders is 10-450 microns. Powders of 10-63 µm fraction are required for selective laser melting technology. Powders of 40-160 µm fraction are used in direct metal deposition technology.

The machine has a capacity of approximately 20 tons of powders per year with the potential to increase the production volume.
Virtual printer
01

A professional virtual software package that covers the full cycle of additive manufacturing by the selective laser melting method. It is used to create 3D models, adjust the position of an object during printing, parameters of virtual modeling of strength characteristics and obtain optimal geometry and structure of the material. Developed in 2021.

Functional capabilities:

design environment supports polygonal models, including lightweight structures and topological optimization
model preparation environment takes into account important machine parameters, including part layout optimization and multi-laser system configuration
simulation environment allows calculation of the stress-strain state of the part to prevent leashing and shrinkage, and includes optimization modeling of parameters using computational and experimental data

3D printing
01

Additive Technologies Center provides 3D printing services for metal and polymer products of various complexity and volumes. The equipment of our own development and partner companies is used in the work.

LLC Rusatom - Additive Technologies provides post-processing services, including heat treatment of blanks after 3D printing, final processing of external and internal surfaces of printed products, including complex channels and cavities.

Topological optimization
02

This is the process of optimizing the creation of a product by digital modeling, which allows you to adapt standard part geometry to additive technology while maintaining or improving the functionality of the future product.

3D scanning
03

This is the process of transferring the physical parameters of an object into a digital format, which allows you to quickly analyze data about the object and get the most accurate volumetric and mathematical digital models. The use of 3D scanners has also proven itself when scanning handmade products and creating accurate copies of single copy parts.

Reverse engineering
04

Reverse engineering is the process of creating a digital copy of a finished product or part. The technologies used in reverse engineering analyze the most significant characteristics of the object: material, hardness, surface roughness and others. The obtained data is used to build a digital model. The technology is used in mechanical engineering, aerospace, shipbuilding and other industries.

Creating a digital copy consists of several steps: 3D scanning, obtaining a polygonal model, creating a solid model, modifying the model, selecting a suitable manufacturing technology, printing blanks, and processing the grown parts

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
01

One of the main tasks of the Company is to increase the competitiveness of its products and services in the additive technology market.

The company takes an active part in projects related to research and development work on developing equipment for additive technologies, creating new materials for 3D printing and technologies for their production, improving complex technological modes of printing, thermal and post-processing.

Among the most significant projects is the development of 3D equipment for printing metal products using selective electron beam melting (SEBM) technology with the use of domestic electron beam guns and scanning systems. The project was implemented in 2019-2022 together with LLC TETA (Tomsk), where an Electron beam welding machine was created. The machine was used to work out the technology of printing with 12Cr18Ni10T steel wire and to produce a blank of an element of an experimental reactor with lead coolant - the output part of a magnetohydrodynamic pump.

LLC Rusatom – Additive Technologies has developed equipment for the additive production of complex-profile and large-sized products for nuclear energy together with the Institute of Laser and Welding Technologies of the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

Within the framework of the project:

a pilot unit for direct metal deposition of large-size products was manufactured on the basis of two industrial robots and a positioner
A fragment of a baffle of an intracore device for a VVER-TOI reactor made of 08Cr18Ni10Ti stainless steel was printed on a direct laser growth unit with synchronized operation of two cladding systems and a positioner.
